Italian Molasses

Italian Molasses

1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup dark molasses
1/2 cup oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
3 to 4 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon cloves, cinnamon, pepper
orange skin
chop nut (grandma had down peanuts, we used almonds)

Sift flour, spices, baking powder, and salt. Mix all ingredients knead dough. Roll to 1/2 inch thickness (like biscotti), then brush top with egg yolk or milk. Bake at 375 oven for 18 to 20 minutes. Cut into slices.
