Christmas Stars

3/4 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
2 1/4 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons lemon juice
cookie icing (used milk or eggnog and powder sugar)

Cream butter, gradually add sugar and cream until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat well. Combine flour wit cinnamon and add to butter mixture, a little at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix in lemon juice. Cover and chill thoroughly.

Roll chilled dough to 1/4 inch thickness on a floured surface. Cut with star cutters and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Spread each cookie with about 1 tsp icing. Baking at 300 degrees 15 to 18 minutes or until cookie is lightly browned but icing still pale colored. Makes about 5 dozen.
