Taralli

Taralli
10 lb Flour
3oz Anise Seeds
2pkg yeast (dissolved in water)
2 eggs
2 ½ tablespoons salt
½ cup oil
Water 18oz (warm)

We only used 5lb of flour and cut all above ingredients in half. 


1.  Make a well of flour either on a flat surface or in a large enough bowl, sprinkler anise and salt on outside wall, mix dissolved yeast, eggs and oil in center.
 2.   Work all together slowly adding water. Let stand in pan.
    

      3. Knee (little at a time) until shiny, then work all together. Let sit in container (cover) for at least 1 hour.
     

4. Working with a little at a time roll and shape into log.


      5. Cut into small pieces, roll and shape into ring.



    6. Place in boiling water for several seconds (until rings float to surface).

    7. Lay out to dry.

     8.  After all dough is shaped and dried bake at 365 till light brown, approximately 22 minutes. Store in air tight container.
