Italian Night

Today we had a guest taste tester our friend Velia from Portland.

A family favorite and something grandma always made is pizza. Nothing is better then homemade dough. Michelle still wasn't sure about how her dough would turn out so we made two batches. Both batches turned out great and we had enough for 5 personal pizza's for dinner, pizzafretta twice once in the afternoon for a snack and then some left over for breakfast the next day. The pizza dough can also be cooked, without toppings, cooled and then frozen for future quick dinners. Grandma would come to Idaho in the summer and fill the freezer with cookies & pizza so we would have them after her visit.

We also made up some Matilana cookies, we kept thinking we had already made them but didn't see them listed in the blog. Turns out they are very close to the sand cookies only the Matilana have egg in them instead of baking soda. They are buttery goodness, but don't remember grandma ever making them.
