2 1/2 cups sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter or margarine, creamed
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Nestles milk chocolate candy bars (or jelly or mints for middle)
Preheat oven to 375.
Sift together flour and slat. Cream butter, gradually add sugar, creaming well, blend in unbeaten egg and vanilla; beat well. Stir in the dry ingredients. Press dough through a cookie press, using the saw-tooth (spritz) place, into strips onto ungreased cookie sheet. Cut chocolate candy bars into 1-inch pieces. Place 1/4 inch apart on strips of dough. Press another strip of dough over candy covering completely. Mark bars between chocolate pieces if desired, sprinkle with finely chopped walnuts, colored sugar or coconut. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until light golden brown. cut into pieces immediately.
